We are thrilled to introduce the newest member of our team at Advanced Fertility Center of Chicago, Dr. Olutunmike “Tumi” Kuyoro, MD! Dr. Tumi brings a wealth of knowledge, expertise, and compassion to our practice, and we are excited for our patients to benefit from her care.
A Strong Educational Foundation
Dr. Tumi’s journey in medicine began at the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine in the United Kingdom, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology. She went on to graduate magna cum laude from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada. Her academic excellence continued throughout her medical training, earning her multiple prestigious awards.
Exceptional Training and Experience
After medical school, Dr. Tumi completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Maimonides Medical Center in New York, where she was recognized for her clinical excellence and commitment to patient care. She then pursued a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra / Northwell Health in New York.
Dr. Tumi is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her advanced training and extensive experience make her a valuable asset to our fertility team.
A Passion for Research and Patient Care
Dr. Tumi has a strong commitment to research, having been recognized with awards for her contributions to scientific advancements. She has published numerous papers on critical topics such as access to fertility care, the impact of BMI thresholds on treatment outcomes, and the role of artificial intelligence in mitigating disparities in fertility care. Her research underscores her dedication to improving outcomes for all patients, particularly those in underserved communities.
“The fertility field is evolving rapidly on a daily basis, but I believe all of that change is futile if it does not bring with it increased opportunities for those who have not been able to access fertility care to begin to do so,” Dr. Tumi shared. “This is why I am incredibly passionate about contributing to efforts to narrow that access gap, and harnessing current and future innovations to improve outcomes for all patients who need fertility care.”
Personal Interests
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Tumi enjoys reading, traveling, hiking, and running. She is also fluent in both English and Yoruba, which allows her to connect with a diverse range of patients.
